The Challenge
- Built in 1929. The living room, in this home, had a long narrow layout. The chunky rugged stone fireplace surround didn’t complement the new design approach. The dark wood ceilings are historical and hand embellished, but swallow all the light in the room.
The Solution
- Replaced the heavy existing fireplace surround with an Art Nouveau inspired white Turkish limestone surround.
- Carefully added electrical stub outs in the large hollow beams in the ceiling to allow for two large chandeliers to add much needed light.
